Omniforce Solutions is Hiring a Database Administrator Near Remote, VA
- 4-7 years of experience in MSSQL Server maintenance and troubleshooting role
- Minimum 3 years of parallel experience installing, configuring, and supporting mission critical SQL Server failover cluster environments
- Setting up and maintaining database backups on SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019. Able to restore if needed.
- Strong database and clustering implementation experience and troubleshooting skills in mission critical environments.
- Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals, data structures, T-SQL DTS/SSIS
- 3 years of experience in setting up and supporting database mirroring, transactional replication, log shipping and SQL Server failover clustering
- Strong communication skills and customer-support focused attitude
- Self-starter who can work in mission critical environments without any supervision
- Install and patch DB environment, Apply security patches
- Hardening of databases and implement database best practices
- Database backup, restore, clone
- Implementing and supporting transparent data encryption (TDE) and secure socket layer (SSL)
- Experience with Sybase or Oracle
- Implementing and supporting peer-to-peer transactional replication
- Basic windows Administration
- Basic scripting skills
- Knowledge of Oracle and its administration is a plus
- Setting up users, roles, schemas and being able to troubleshoot connectivity issues in oracle
- Identify locking/blocking sessions in oracle
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Four years college degree in computer science or equivalent
