Armstrong Memory Care Assisted Living is seeking individuals to be a Dietary Cook at our assisted living facility.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare various foods, including salads and desserts, in accordance with menu created by dietitian for each meal of the day.
• Operates various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal; i.e. mixer, meat slicer, food processor, over, steamer, etc.
• Required to assist in setting, clearing and cleaning tables, cleaning dishes, cleaning work surfaces at the end of shift, including but not limited to: grill, sweeping floors, wiping down counter space, wiping out steam tables, cover and store unused foods.
• Must be able to work at a constant pace, to ensure food is ready for each meal of the day.
• May be required to order supplies.
• Required to serve meals to the residents.
• Required to prepare foods for the salad bar and set up salad bar, refill salad bar crocks as needed.
• Assists other dietary personnel as needed
• Cross training: Staff will be cross-trained to perform various functions to meets residents’ health, safety and welfare needs
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest with a positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
• Required to do all things necessary for the residents’ health, safety, and welfare.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Six months of industrial kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to interact with senior residents.
• Ability to cook for large numbers, and various diets.
