Job Description

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a diligent and service-oriented Director of Security to join the pre-opening team of our brand-new upscale hotel. Opening in the spring of 2023, Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU will provide Tempe with 36,000 square feet of event space and four new food and beverage outlets. Featuring a rooftop upscale restaurant and the largest ballroom in the area, we expect to provide tremendous options for our guests for dining and entertainment.

So where does the Director of Loss Prevention fit in? This role will be responsible for directing and overseeing the day-to-day functions of the security department, including protection of all hotel guests, associates, and the property.

Our ideal candidate will possess outstanding vigilance, a calming communication style, and precise documentation skills. Responsibilities

• Ensure that all security standards are properly followed.
• Review all reports completed by security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
• Report all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
• Ensure thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence), while completing all required federal, state, local, and company required documentation.
• Maintain guest room surveillance procedures.
• Maintain an effective key control program.
• Ensure that shift personnel are properly scheduled, with special attention to high-volume days.
• Lead loss prevention related training for other property associates.
• Train and mentor a team of security officers, ensuring their growth within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a Loss Prevention / Security management role in an upscale hotel or resort is required.
• Must have a proven track record of exceeding guest expectations for safety.
• Experience managing OHSA standards is required.
• Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Proficient with documentation.
• Previous experience with training and upholding safety standards.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts as required by property demand.
