Job Description

To carry out all aspects of food and beverage service that are assigned by the Banquets Captain.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Obtain specific duties from Captain and complete fully the style of service as described by the Captain.
  • Bring to work any proper equipment needed in your job duties.
  • Complete any cleanup or closing duties assigned by the Captain. Be aware of the cleanliness in hallways as well.
  • Do not leave your job site without the Captain's or Manager's permission.
  • Show the guest the utmost courtesy and the willingness to take care of their needs.
  • Be aware of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Utilize proper tableside service and be able to carry 10 dinner plates with plate covers and carry a large oval tray of glassware.
  • Take beverage requests, understand types of alcohol, service guest efficiently and pass T.I.P.S class.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and follow all safety procedures as outlined in your Standards of Conduct and Loss Prevention Manual.

    • Must have some working knowledge of Banquets and the willingness to be cordial and personable with guests. 

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate in English efficiently.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
