Who We Are:

Omaze is a fundraising platform that has raised over $150M to support charities to date by offering people the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences and prizes. Omaze is on a mission to dream the world better, both for our customers and for the charities that we support every day. Omaze winners have gone to Lake Como with George and Amal Clooney, received Pope Francis’ Lamborghini, lived in Europe for a month or even received $1M cash. Meanwhile, Omaze experiences have helped build a community hub assisting the homeless population of LA, a children's hospice center in the UK and solar water farms in multiple countries around the world.

Omaze was named Fast Company's 2020 Most Innovative Companies and Forbes’ 2021 Best Startup Employers in America. We’re on a path to disrupt the fundraising space and spread optimism at scale, and we’re expanding our exceptional team to help us get there.

  • Growth: Omaze is growing rapidly. If you’re excited about a high-growth, fast-paced environment, or about scaling something that’s never been done before, we’d love to talk to you.
  • Unique Culture: We live by our virtues. We believe in we before me, growing together, taking ownership, spreading joy and dreaming giant.
  • Perks: If raising millions of dollars every year to support charities isn’t perk enough, we’re excited to offer unlimited PTO, Fridays For You (we take the last Friday of each month off), weekly meditation, and the opportunity to work with a phenomenal team that makes a global impact every day.

Who We’re Seeking:

Omaze is looking for an experienced user experience and interface design professional to help us create the future of charitable giving. We are heavily investing in our technology platform and redefining the next generation of our customer experience to grow our community of donors and dreamers.

You are someone who cares about quality and craft, has an intrinsic motivation to deliver value to the customer, and knows how to balance both. You are able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences, and always strive to improve yourself and those around you.

You value diverse perspectives and foster an inclusive space where everyone feels safe voicing their opinion. You believe everyone has something to contribute and enjoy working cross-functionally.

You’re excited to support the opportunity to more effectively raise money for charity by understanding customer needs and iterating on the existing product to create a more engaging experience.

What You'll Do:

In your first 30 days, you’ll…

  • Evaluate existing customer needs and product use research
  • Meet with various business and technical leaders to build a foundational knowledge of our business model and platform
  • Spend time on our website and in our existing documentation to understand the core flows and templates we currently have and where there's friction
  • Collaborate with product management to understand the needs for design across both mobile and web mobile development
  • Meet with the design team and learn about current design processes, systems, and designs and identify any areas for improvement on the web and mobile app experience

In your first 60 days, you’ll…

  • Imagine the next iterations for our native app and web experiences, working with engineering and product to update our design system
  • Collaborate with product management and design to establish a prototyping and testing strategy for new features
  • Produce wireframes and designs for new features

In your first 90 days, you’ll…

  • Collaborate with product management and other internal stakeholders to evaluate new features and prioritize work
  • Produce user flows, prototypes and interfaces for new features
  • Contribute to the Omaze design system and component library
  • Manage and mentor junior designers on both web and mobile development

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven track record of designing interactive digital products, in both web and native app design. There’s no magic number, but about 5 years of professional experience in User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI) or Product Design
  • Experience leading and building a design team
  • You have strong samples of mobile interfaces, using modern design and prototyping tools. (We use Figma.)
  • Experience working directly with engineers to effectively communicate design requirements from concept to launch
  • Experience defining and maintaining documentation of UX and UI standards and usage (style guides and component-based design systems)
  • Experience conducting user research and defining user needs. Bonus points for experience with split tests
  • Strong communication skills and can articulate the “why” behind your design recommendations.
  • Comfort with stakeholder management and feature prioritization.
  • A portfolio demonstrating your decision-making process and a strong sense of hierarchy, typography, color, and systems thinking.
  • Don’t quite meet all the above requirements? Apply anyway! We love talking to exceptional candidates. If the current role isn’t a fit, we’ll keep your information on file for the future.

Professional Traits:

  • Proactive, takes ownership and is confident working independently
  • A continuous hunger for learning and sharing knowledge
  • Enjoy trying and learning new things – not afraid to learn through failing
  • Passionate about voicing your opinions and humble in receiving feedback
  • Champion of collaboration and team building
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity

What to Expect:

  • Competitive compensation and benefits including attractive equity package.
  • We're committed to putting the health of our employees first and are currently working from home with a stipend for office setup, continuation of company events (virtual), and more.
  • We actively seek out diversity of thought and experience to drive innovation. We welcome difference of background, identity, and perspective and work hard to ensure that all people can bring their authentic self to work at all times.
