Job overview:

As an engineering intern, you will join us for a 6 month, full time paid opportunity to work hands-on with experienced technologists to support and improve our product offerings. You will be working with a team of other engineers that will mentor you and help you gain valuable experience in a variety of technologies as well as the healthcare industry.

Our core engineering practices are centered around empathy and sustainability. We work together using pair programming, test-driven development, and constant collaboration. We empower all engineers to design, build, and maintain systems necessary to continue our rapid growth. This internship opportunity is for our Mobile Android team, a team that cares deeply about delivering the best digital care experience for our members that have chronic cardiometabolic diseases and musculoskeletal disorders. We solve big problems in an agile way, and in doing so, we provide a way for our members to better their lives. 

About you: 

You are an emerging talent in the software engineering space! You are motivated to learn new technologies and ready to drive technical work. You care about writing quality software and recognize that there are often many right answers. You are excited about the opportunity to learn new technologies and the context behind. You are enthusiastic about providing the best possible care for our members.

We’re not expecting you to be an expert. You will bring some skills and familiarity with some of our technologies, however the focus of this 6 month, full time program will be on teaching you, helping you to build your network, then challenging you with real technology problems that will contribute to Omada’s mission. You are going to be the driver of your own success in this program!

Requirements:

  • Recent completion of a computer-related degree or similar coursework (i.e. bootcamp)
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, etc…)
  • Programming exposure in Java or Kotlin, in the context of building a mobile application on Android
  • Familiarity with Android Studio

Bonus points for:

  • Good understanding of how RESTful APIs work
  • Experience writing unit, integration and feature tests
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts
