Olson Steel is a leading steel erection and fabrication company who has been servicing the construction industry for over 60 years. We are currently seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team in San Leandro, CA.

*This is not a remote position.

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing weekly and salary payroll, as well as other administrative tasks associated with payroll, listed below. The Payroll clerk will also be responsible for assisting other departments as necessary.

Essential Duties

PAYROLL SUPPORT

• Enter and process weekly and salary payroll
• Make weekly payroll tax and garnishment payments
• File quarterly payroll taxes, i.e. Form 941, 940, etc.
• Submit quarterly reports such as EEOC, MWR, etc.
• Submit all certified payroll / keep up-to-date
• Set-up and monitor subcontractors for Certified Payroll
• Organize and distribute paychecks
• Reconcile receipts and reimbursements
• Organize signed timesheets for hourly employees
• Submit monthly union reports
• Process termination checks, correction checks, etc.

ACCOUNTING SUPPORT

• File, scan and organize documents as requested
• Assist with compiling documentation for audits

Education

Bachelor's degree - Accounting/Finance preferred

Requirements/Desired Skills

Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Advanced abilities with Excel; Comfortable using a computer for various tasks

Must demonstrate an exceptional level of reliability and degree of effectiveness in written and oral communication skills. 

Construction payroll experience is a plus.
