About the role

You are an experienced Backend Software Engineer who can create multi-tenant web applications that scale. You have extensive experience building on Cloud and delivering a Cloud-first experience. Your applications will be used nationally and globally, impacting millions of people across the world, promoting economic fairness and water conservation while driving a profitable and robust business. 

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in many of the following areas:

• Building backend services in a language such as Node.js, Go, C#, or Java
• Web services standards and related technologies (JSON, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets) and authentication methods such as OAuth
• Development of micro-services and containerized applications (Docker images or Kubernetes)
• Relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL
• Implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools
• Secure code development and security design
• Implementing messaging or streaming services using Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Google Cloud based IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions is a strong plus.

• Strong communication skills (verbal, listening and writing), with the ability to present and exchange information, including complex technical concepts, clearly, accurately, and appropriately
• Experience with partnering with other technical stakeholders
• In-depth experience building solutions using public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Working in earlier stages of product development with ambiguous requirements

Qualifications:

•  BS/MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other highly quantitative/analytical field
• Four years working on Cloud based technologies and SaaS solutions
