About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Payroll department within a reputable organization located in one of Chicago’s most recognizable and desirable neighborhoods along the “Magnificent Mile”. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Practitioner II will be responsible for calculating, reviewing, verifying, and posting complex payrolls, and time and attendance data into ADP Enterprise.

Your responsibilities:

  • Compute and transmit payroll data for exempt and non-exempt employees located in multiple states, calculate overtime, and prepare manual checks as necessary.
  • Via ADP eTime software, poll electronic time cards and review the information for completeness and accuracy; contact various department supervisors for any missing data.
  • Accurately calculate, record, and track employee attendance; calculate accrued paid time off.
  • Remain up to date on current policies and regulations to ensure quality control and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain payroll records.
  • Produce and run ADPR reports.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Calculate various pay types including bonuses, STD, etc.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a courteous and expeditious manner.
  • Communicate effectively with Managers/Supervisors regarding issues such as overtime approval.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources Department in reporting timecard policy violations.
  • Audit W-2 forms.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with employees and outside vendors to promote a quality service image.
  • Provide support with system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Maintain and distribute files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of Payroll processing experience, including familiarity with federal, state and local tax programs and processes.
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task paired with strong time management skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Accurate and meticulous in data entry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills on multiple platforms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect the integrity of payroll operations and information.
  • Comfortable with working overtime at key peak seasons in the payroll calendar.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with ADP Enterprise v6, ADP eTime/Time & Attendance, and MyADP.
  • CPP and FPC certification a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
