The Gardener will provide a 'Welcome and Cared For' experience to all by supporting and demonstrating a commitment to Ojai Valley Inn Core Values. Will maintain landscaping of the property by applying general landscaping skills that include: cleaning, pruning, hedging, mowing, weeding and trimming. Will maintain and water all pots located on the guestroom balconies and assist the florists when needed. Must be an energetic individual able to work both independently and closely with other staff members and take direction well.
Essential:

• Requires knowledge of:
  
  • Plant material
  • Pesticide and fertilizer application
  • Light power equipment
• General knowledge of irrigation installation and repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in operating power equipment.
• Able to perform manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible work schedule (some weekends and holidays).
• An energetic individual.
• Able to work both independently and closely with other staff members.
• Able to take direction well.
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Desirable:

• Diploma or certificate in Horticulture or 1-2 years of related experience.

• Previous experience in hotel/resort.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
