OGS Industries is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant Near Akron, OH

OGS Industriesis seeking aHuman Resources Assistantwho will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the OGS HR department.

ESSENTIAL DUTY

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring, payroll, etc.; refers more complex questions to Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
  • Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, weekly benefit uploads and ensuring all payroll documents are filed electronically
  • Perform weekly and monthly maintenance of garnishments, benefits, time-off policies, and electronic files
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefit providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, unemployment, and retirement plan providers.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation and benefits orientation
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday events, and other celebrations.
  • Acts as a backup to Shipping Coordinator
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Requirement

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in related field required
  • Prior related office experience preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Current working hours are Monday – Thursday 7am – 5pm and Friday 7am – 11am
