COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This position is in a collective bargaining unit.
 
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Financial Operations and Systems (OFOS), Office of Pay and Retirement Services (OPRS). The incumbent is responsible for processing varied payrolls for District government employees; determining pay; maintaining payroll records; receiving, reviewing, entering, auditing, and processing payroll data; reviewing and reconciling payroll reports; investigating and troubleshooting system issues, identifying root causes and developing and documenting solutions; assisting with performing testing throughout the payroll system to ensure data integrity; and assisting with on-the-job training for new employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.Two (2) years of progressive experience processing payroll utilizing an automated payroll software system, auditing payroll data, researching and resolving payroll matters, detecting and investigating operational inefficiencies, and corresponding with employees regarding payroll information. Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
