POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant II is responsible for generating reports, posting revenues, and payroll for all companies. The Staff Accountant II assists with maintaining general ledgers accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, gathering and processing information from third-party vendors. The Staff Accountant II supports the Finance Department and is an active contributor to the Accounting Team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Reconciles bank clearing accounts and bank statements.
• Post Daily Galaxy Payments.
• Maintains systems for revenue recognition including annual and lifetime pass holders.
• Maintains passthrough reconciliations for e-Store revenues.
• Processing expense allocations, monthly accruals, prepaid amortization, and expenses.
• Prepares monthly Sales Tax reports.
• Maintains general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
• Calculates and records management fees.
• Post payroll entries into accounting software.
• Follows all accounting policies according to GAAP.
• Maintains confidentiality and protects the organization's assets.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Provides support in the annual budgeting process and forecasting activities.
• Provides support with year-end audit preparation and requests.
• Communicates and works with other departments to support and monitor business operations, including upcoming events, new developments, and other activities as needed.
• Other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug testing and background investigation
• Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with the ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to spend most of the workday walking/standing in public spaces
• Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work onsite for up to 30 hours. Weekly hours not to exceed 40.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of an Associate degree in Accounting, or equivalent
• 3 years of full-cycle revenue and treasury accounting experience
• Experience with cash handling, bookkeeping, and accounting systems
• Above average ability to organize, manage time and set priorities while meeting deadlines
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible and shift priorities to meet departmental requirements
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to research and analyze various types of data information
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP’s), and PowerPoint)
• Minimum 2 years QuickBooks experience required
