Overview

Entry level maintenance mechanic to support preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on facilities, utilities and equipment utilized for discovery, development and clinical and commercial manufacturing of innovative therapies at a GMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing hands on preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment to include inspection, component replacement, tolerance adjustment, material of construction refinishing. Mechanical equipment to include; motors, pumps, valves, HVAC systems, pneumatics systems, hydraulics systems
• Assist in troubleshooting and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and instrumentation and control (I&C) devices and systems. 
• Assist in repairs to facilities to include patching, painting, cleaning.
• Assist in welding and fabrication of steel, plastics and wood structures and containers
• Assist in furniture and equipment relocations, moves, installations between facilities
• Assist in routine monitoring of equipment for critical parameters, document utilizing forms and electronic systems
• Provide onsite escorting of out sourced service providers during rendered service.
• Assist in documentation of preventative and corrective work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Assist in daily pH neutralization activities and tasks.
• Assist on Off-Shift, On-Call Support on Facility Emergencies

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational technical education
• Minimum of 0-2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance 
• Any welding accreditation or experience a plus but not a requirement
• Teamwork experience via previous employment, participation in clubs or teams
• CMMS documentation will require working with computer

Working Conditions:

• Position requires the ability to work with mechanical equipment and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Position requires working with rotary equipment, motors, pulleys, wheels
• Position requires working outdoors and at heights
• Must be able to work in both cleanroom and chemical laboratory environments.
