POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Associate is responsible for performing sales transactions and assisting customers on the sales floor. The Sales Associate also works as part of the store team to merchandise and maintain the sales and stock room areas according to Company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all OSJL customers receive the best possible service on the sales floor and at the point of sale
- Maintain proper handling of all customer transactions and corresponding documentation
- Support OSJL merchandising standards for all assigned areas by properly displaying products on shelves and on the sales floor
- Possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to accomplish assigned goals
- Provide timely communication to store leadership regarding any opportunities for improvement
- Understand,support, and implement safety protocols throughout the retail store
- Operate a cash register as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior retail customer service and/or cashier experience in other retail environments preferred
- Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position requires constant extended periods of moving, remaining stationary, ascending, descending, and/or positioning oneself to complete various tasks throughout the shift.
- Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, ascending or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting on a frequent basis: should be able to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis.
