Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory to provide for quality patient care services.
Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION
Associate degree in Laboratory Science of Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited college or university, or high school diploma plus work experience as recommended by CLIA.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
1 3 years in clinical laboratory preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
ASCP or equivalent.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Limited Microbiology, point of care and Phlebotomy skills.
WORK SCHEDULE
This department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week including weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 8-12 hour shifts. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to float to other OakBend locations where deemed competent, flex hours, or rotate days off without pay.
