Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & External Relations, directs and executes the functions of the Marketing Department of the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) & City Center Campus (Pride Park, Collins Canal Park, Rum Room, and Venu) through media and public relations, online and digital marketing, sponsorship, advertising, promotional activities, and marketing collateral. Enhances the image of the venue and its campus while promoting goodwill in the community. Basic functions include sponsorships sales and servicing, along with finding ways to grow revenue for the venue, campus and events while maintaining high levels of client services and excellence in customer service. 

Responsibilities

  • This position manages the MBCC’s digital signage as a resource for sponsorship activations, event-related information, citywide information and/or venue and campus information.
  • Provides excellence in customer service to clients and executes the implementation, management maintenance of the digital signage and digital advertising/sponsorship programs.
  • Utilizes licensed digital signage content management software to upload, operate, manage, and maintain digital advertising/sponsorship content, troubleshoots as appropriate, and coordinates with IT and A/V partners on technical hardware issues.
  • Implement, oversee and manage the Miami Beach Convention Center’s social media strategy.
  • Plan and input all social media posts in the domestic social media calendar and maintain a high-level overview of social media activities in the MBCC master content calendar.
  • Develop social media channel specific strategies that play to each outlet’s strengths, with a plan to measure success and identify potential adjustments to the strategy.
  • Monitor and research; analyzes data; creates management reports and detailed evaluations of social media strategies.
  • Remains current with emerging internet marketing trends, tactics, strategies and technologies.
  • Manage day-to-day content & execution of all social media platforms, including (but not limited to) Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
  • Manage MBCC’s domestic and global social media profiles.
  • Create content (copy and visual asset selection and creation) for ongoing, organic & paid social media posts.
  • Manage purchase of ad space, including LinkedIn advertising, promoted tweets, Facebook/Instagram promoted posts and ads, Pinterest promoted pins, YouTube video ads, Google Search Ads (SEM); optimize social media & digital buys for optimal results, audience targeting, higher engagement, website traffic and goal conversions.
  • Write clear, persuasive copy to be pushed out on all social media platforms.
  • Oversee social media promotional efforts for MBCC programs, partnership support including creation of plan and social media toolkit for partners.
  • Engage in initial planning to execute tactical efforts for local programming.
  • Community engagement and moderation, responding to social media follower’s messages and comments with complete accuracy, in a timely manner. Respond to comments on review sites such as Google, TripAdvisor and Yelp.
  • Manage & host Twitter chats and parties, including creating run of show, coordinating with participating partners, answering questions from fans, providing analytics reports.
  • Leverage social listening tools to monitor and report on consumer engagement activities, engage proactively as well as respond to consumers; use insight to inform social media program evolution.
  • Use social media reporting to continually optimize program.
  • Provide monthly promotional social media recaps to the MBCC, CMB, GMCVB and other key partners and stakeholders.
  • Assists with the establishment and building of online relationships with key influencers through proactive strategies and execution.
  • Educate others throughout MBCC and provide guidance on social media best practices & MBCC brand.
  • Stay up-to-date on new social media trends/ methods for integrating those technologies into the platform; Attend seminars, conventions, etc. to enhance social and digital media knowledge.
  • Monitors; analyzes data; creates management reports and detailed evaluations of social media strategies.
  • Assists with the creation and development of Marketing and Advertising Plans.Assists with the development and implementation of an advertising and publicity campaign to create regional, national, and international awareness of the venue and its campus.
  • Works with venue clients and partners in the creation and supervision of marketing plans for events when required, to include all available services, public relations, media placement, direct mail, promotional development, non-profit opportunities, etc.
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials and procedures to have the MBCC Sales and Marketing Departments function effectively as an in-house agency.
  • Seeks new contacts and maintains working relationships with all media representatives, civic and industry organizations, corporate promotional contacts, and event and booking representatives.
  • Remains current on national and international trends in the industry and local market changes to best serve the venue and campus.
  • Maintains the MBCC’s website and creates and maintains editorial/blog/news and info pages.
  • Publishes various audience-targeted e-newsletters and maintains email database.
  • Uses sales and marketing principles to promote the venue and its campus.
  • Responsible for prospecting, selling, cultivating, and maintaining the corporate sponsorships, for the venue in both new and renewal business.
  • Works with the sales & marketing department on opportunities to cross sell corporate partners.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing new ideas and opportunities that will drive revenue for the venue and campus.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree from four (4) year College in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism required.
  • Two (2) years minimum experience in marketing, strategy and media initiatives from concept to completion.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience with social media platforms and content marketing program (visual storytelling) development and implementation.

  • Language: Bilingual (English/ Spanish ) a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the application of social media web technology, search trends and social media innovation.
  • Communication: Organizes and expresses ideas and information clearly, using appropriate and efficient methods of conveying the information. Must have exceptional command of the English language, oral and written. Presents information professionally with poise and confidence in front of an A proven record of online engagement and listening. Demonstrated ability to perform as a pragmatic and responsive ambassador of the company.

Computer and Technology Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS SharePoint and MS Outlook)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the application of social media web technology, search trends and social media innovation. Social media tools such as (Sprout Social, Canva, Facebook, Instagram (stories and reels), and Twitter) and monitoring tools such as (MS Social Listening, Sysomos, Heartbeat and Socialbakers).
  • Skills in photo and video editing and graphic design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications
