Description

The Pharmacist is responsible for oversight of the daily operations of our pharmacy. Daily functions of this role will include, ensuring proper preparation, review, verification and dispensation of prescribed medication. The Pharmacist is directly responsible for maintaining drug records, securing the dosing room, developing, and implementing operating procedures relative to the compounding and dispensing of all medications.

Job Responsibilities:

Operations:

• Complies with all health and safety regulations, State and Federal laws, State Board of Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Agency regulations and laws.
• Develop operating procedures for maintaining all medication records and security in the area within the facility in which the storing, and dispensing of medications will occur.
• On a quarterly basis, meets with Chief Medical Officer and Program Director to review the clinic's pharmacy practices, documented in writing (written reports of meetings between Pharmacy Manager and Chief Medical Officer signed, and dated by both).
• Prepare written reports regarding the provider's level of compliance with established pharmaceutical procedures, as needed. 
• Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from inventory.
• Maintains registrations and licensing of pharmacy, keeps abreast of any updates or changes.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required (Pharm.D. preferred)
• Current valid license to practice pharmacy in the state of New York 
• 3 Years working as a pharmacist preferred
• 340B experience preferred 
• Willing to obtain ACE certification (340b) within first 2 years of employment.
