- Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepares month-end accruals for assigned departments, factoring in accounts payable activity, experience averages, and calculated estimates.
- Prepares monthly reconciliation on assigned GL accounts.
- Assists in preparing inter-company billing sheets and documentation.
- Takes ownership of live racing season bookkeeping.
- Provides support to horse racing regulatory agencies, including processing on-site transactions.
- Assists in analyzing monthly financial statements including budget and prior year variance reports.
- Investigates variances from the balance sheet reconciliation and the P&L analysis, providing guidance for the department heads and the Finance team.
- Prepares and processes tax reports and remittances as assigned.
- Supports the inventory count and purchasing system needs as necessary.
- Assists in analyzing manual cost transfers and inventory valuation.
- Provides documentation for internal and external audit requests.
- Assists with special projects as assigned by management.
- Promotes outstanding customer relations.
- Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related area is preferred.
- 1-2 years of related accounting experience.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
