O'Mally Management Group is Hiring a Patient Care Assistant | CNA Near Longview, TX

Position Goals

The job description for the Patient Care Assistant at Infinite Hospital Services provides criteria for the evaluation of the Patient Care Assistant position. The Patient Care Assistant at Hospitality Health ER functions includes providing exceptional personalized service to all patients, guests, visitors, and staff of the facility. The Patient Care Assistant will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient’s sense of comfort and dignity.

Position Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Facility Services Manager, the responsibilities of the Patient Care Assistant at Hospitality Health ER are, but not limited to:

  1. Creating and maintaining a patient-centered focus by engaging in a positive working relationship with all patients, visitors, and staff of the facility
  2. Prioritizing patient needs throughout the duration of their stay includes: answering questions and concerns; resolving any issues that may arise; running errands and providing meals
  3. Providing assistance to patients with their needs such as feeding, grooming, and bathing
  4. Transporting ambulatory patients
  5. Monitoring vitals and patient behavior and reporting them to medical staff
  6. Assisting patients with mobility needs and addressing any discomfort
  7. Engaging with all patients, visitors and staff and providing a warm welcome; prepare and deliver refreshments
  8. Adhering to the mission and goals of Infinite Hospital Services and Hospitality Health ER
  9. Completing daily responsibilities upon arrival and prior to departure of shift (cleaning, stocking, organizing, etc.)
  10. Accountable to the Staff Registered Nurse, the Supervisor, Patient Care Manager, and Director of Nurses
  11. Adhering to and ensuring compliance with IHS and HHER policies, procedures and customer service standards
  12. Participating in maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment
  13. Adhering to the guiding principles and policies set forth by Infinite Hospital Services and Hospitality Health ER Emergency Room
  14. Contributing to meeting the mission and goals of Infinite Hospital Services and Hospitality Health ER
  15. Being a valuable teammate at all times, when asked to help with other task and/or other duties as requested across departments
  16. Maintaining a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies
  17. Maintaining professionalism in job performance and practice
  18. Maintaining HIPPA compliance and upholding utmost integrity and privacy of each and every patient
  19. Communicating needs through the proper chain of command
  20. Communicating effectively with patients, visitors, nurses, physicians, and all other hospital personnel

Position Requirements
The competency requirements for the Patient Care Assistant at Hospitality Health ER are:

  1. Customer service experience; demonstrated ability in customer service practice related to direct patient care in high volume, high-stress environment
  2. Critical thinking skills; ability to work autonomously and make efficient use of time and resources
  3. Understanding of clinical care and privacy
  4. Integrity and responsibility; will have access to company credit card and petty cash, and the company vehicle
  5. Current driver’s license with no restrictions
  6. Ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians
  7. Flexibility to meet scheduling demands of the department
  8. Demonstrated competency of Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by Supervisor

Education/Experience
High School Graduate/Equivalent is preferred but not required
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred but not required
Ability to read, speak, and write the English language
Must follow oral and written directions
Valid Driver’s License

Kneeling / Crouching
Using arm, leg, and back muscles for an extended period
Lifting, moving, and carrying items weighing greater than 25 pounds
Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range

Work Conditions
Both environmental conditions; you will work both inside and out, including inclement weather.
Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
May be required to work in narrow aisles or passageways
Working with hazardous chemicals
Potential exposure to communicable disease
