• Performs normal start of shift operations
• Loads the skip when muck is available
• Operates the skip in a safe manner
• Maintains skip pocket lubrication (preventative maintenance)
• Communicates with the hoistman as needed and when personnel need to use hoist
• Keeps skip free of spillage using prescribed safety techniques
• Performs housekeeping duties in the skip pocket as needed
• Follows normal end of shift and handover procedures
• Demonstrated competence in coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to team members
• Good time management and prioritization skills

• Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in mining
• Experience in construction and/or using heavy equipment
• Preferred knowledge of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
