Nyrstar East Tennessee Mines is Hiring a Chute Puller-Immel- D Crew (East Tennessee Mines) Near Tennessee, TN

• Assist in ensuring the mine development and operational activities are achieved to plan specifications
• Support the Mine Shift Team Leader and General Mine Foreman to achieve positive growth and improvement of all work activities and performance standards
• Operates locomotive load cars at chute, dump at tipple
• Understand the braking requirements when hauling loaded cars
• Understand two types of car dumps, bottom and rotary
• Able to clear jams in cars
• Able to re-rail cars using jacks
• Understand the hazards of “slewing” a car
• Performs pre-shift check of the locomotive and cars
• Performs a walk-around of the tipple area and each of the ore chutes within the mine level
• Performs an ongoing visual check of the rails during his shift
• Operates the locomotive observing all MSHA and company safety standards

• Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in mining
• Experience in construction and/or using heavy equipment
• Preferred knowledge of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
• Promote and demonstrate safe behavior at all times
• Comply with the site’s standards and procedures in SHEC as well as MSHA regulations
• Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards
