Nyrstar East Tennessee Mines is Hiring a Blaster Handler - Immel-D Crew (East Tennessee Mines) Near Tennessee, TN

• Comply with MSHA & ATF explosives regulations and requirements
• Comply with Nyrstar safety, health and environmental standards and policies
• Identify, inspect and maintain blasting equipment
• Hand Scaling
• Scratching out holes
• Minimizing explosive waste.
• Proper handling and loading of explosives.
• Detonation of explosives (only licensed blasters)
• Provide warnings that blasting is about to occur according to MSHA and Nyrstar requirements
• Complete thorough workplace exams.
• Accurately complete blast report as per regulations
• Accurately account for all explosives in inventory each shift

• BATFE possessor form must be filed
• 1-2 years’ experience in mining or blasting preferred
• Demonstrated competence in ground control
• Experience operating a production drill preferred and highly recommended
• Preferred knowledge of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
