IT Service Desk Technician - (MSP)

We are looking for an experienced Service Desk Technician to deliver a highly desired customer service experience. The team member we are looking for will provide front-line support for our clients and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

An NW Technology Service Desk Technician serves to help our small to medium-sized business customers operate more efficiently by implementing the proper use of today's technologies. We are looking for candidates with a passion for IT, and strong customer-oriented, technology, and troubleshooting skills. In this role, you will provide top-notch desktop, server, VoIP, and network support for numerous businesses.

Experience: IT Support: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer and network related problems
  • Identify technology solutions based on analysis of customer support needs
  • Strong and consistent communication with customers and team members
  • Documenting work performed and other technical information for our clients
  • Install/troubleshoot desk/laptops, antivirus, backups, and firewalls
  • Install and troubleshoot 3rd party applications
  • Troubleshoot down networks and/or services
  • Wireless Networks
  • Resolve help-desk requests and assigned tickets from end users in a courteous manner.
  • Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution
  • Escalate calls to 2nd Tier Support when necessary
  • Apply diagnostic utilities and best practice methodology to aid in troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot Windows Desktop and Microsoft Office applications
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
  • React to service outages promptly with adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Take ownership of tasks and follow through to ensure complete resolution
  • Perform fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading hardware/software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
  • Test fixes to ensure the problem has been adequately resolved
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests

Qualifications

  • MSP Experience Preferred
  • Associate degree in a technologies-related field or equivalent training
  • Team First Mentality Required
  • In-depth understanding of the Windows desktop operating system
  • Knowledge of AD, DHCP, DNS, and MS Exchange
  • Basic knowledge of Windows networking
  • Ability to explain the technical procedure to non-technical users
  • Ability to pay close attention to details while performing technically detailed tasks
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job and keep up with technology changes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and accurate documentation skills
  • Strong support experience with Microsoft products including Office 365/Excel/Word/Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision
  • Excellent Desktop software knowledge - Microsoft Office, modern browsers, hardware, software, and networking concepts
  • Experience working with a service ticketing system
