NVR Inc is Hiring an Application Support Analyst Near Reston, VA

As an Application Support Analyst for our Homebuilding Operations value stream, you will provide front-line technical and business process support to end users and team members on application issues, with significant focus on our proprietary Point-of-Sale suite of applications. Excellent problem-solving skills are a must to diagnose, evaluate and resolve complex problem situations. The team will rely on your research and investigation skills to dig into recurring technical or business issues to provide documentation and recommendations for improvements.

Your communication skills and ability to translate technical language to non-technical explanations will allow you to assist the business team members and end users with both technical and business process changes and facilitate user adoption. Understanding the user and customer experience will assist the team in prioritizing work, adjusting business processes, and developing solutions that improve the overall experience. You will be an active member of the product support scrum team and contribute to the success of the team’s agile release cycle and continuous improvement processes.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate and form relationships with your cross-functional team members of varying skill levels, both business and technical.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer and employee needs, as well as our business vision and strategy. 
  • Work closely with your team members to ensure the work is completed to the business’ expectations and provides the intended value to customers and employees. 
  • Use your analysis skills to investigate, document and resolve errors, data inconsistencies, bugs and user experience issues to support the development and business teams. 
  • Engage with users directly to understand their issues, troubleshoot, and find ways to improve their experience and performance within the system.
  • Work hand in hand with the business to understand use cases, define needs and success criteria, and aid in user adoption, employee experience, and ultimately the customer experience.
  • Document use cases and requirements for completion by the development team.
  • Communicate with internal customers and be able to present information in a non-technical manner.
  • Troubleshoot and support ad hoc requests received from colleagues.

What's Required

  • 2 years of experience working in an IT Support capacity, or other similar customer-facing technical support role
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Experience working in an agile development environment

  • Formal Customer Experience and/or User Experience training or related work experience
  • Experience with Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Jira
