Nsight is looking to hire a Network Engineer focused on software defined networking and automation. This role will be part of a team leveraging leading edge technology to develop workflows to deploy, maintain, and monitor MPLS, ROADM, and access networks. You will work alongside intellectual engineers, combining skills and experience in a collaborative effort to ensure best in class service as well as growth of ongoing technologies.

What you'll be doing:

Develop tools to enhance our growing need for software- defined networking. This position will also be responsible for new technology and product research, as well as, providing plans on how to implement new technology into our network. This will include collaborating with other departments.

• Write script and code to fix and automate network routers
• Automate transport
• Provide on-call support to resolve troubles outside of normal business hours
• Monitor and assist in managing applications, device availability, network conditions / status, system reliability & performance, and maintenance programs
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to approach troubleshooting with both passion and structure

You need to bring...

• Software Development (node.js, Javascript, Python, HTML)
• Database Development (SQL, Mongo, Arango, Influx)
• Full Stack Development (LAMP, MEAN, Django)
• Understanding of Methodologies: Agile, CI/CD, GIT
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry

Great additions to have

• Expert knowledge of software principles
• Knowledge of Linux system administration
• Knowledge or experience of using advanced scripts in any programming language
• Passionate about learning new technologies
• Familiarity with Service Provider technologies (BGP, MPLS, EVPN, SR)
• Optical Network (ROADM)
