The Opportunity

The primary responsibility of the General Project Manager is to develop a detailed project plan, assemble and coordinate a project team and oversee the full project life cycle to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and to the required specifications and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Develop a detailed project scope and objectives for all assigned projects to track progress and ensure critical path items are identified and managed appropriately, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Align strategic delivery roadmaps with project and program delivery plans to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate relationships with internal resources and external third parties/vendors as needed/required to ensure quality delivery or outsourced components.
  • Establish and support strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, to ensure business requirements are clearly defined and project delivery plans are aligned to meet expectations.
  • Ensure regular, clear, and transparent communications are maintained with all stakeholders as relevant throughout the project planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Create and keep comprehensive project documentation including managing compliance with formal delivery and deployment frameworks.
  • Manage project portfolio prioritization activities, and clearly communicate outcomes to both internal teams, and customer stakeholders to manage expectations.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation, in the process gaining commitment from key leadership to ensure realistic schedules can be kept.
  • Use proper verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs and ensure key stakeholders (both internal and external) are aware of agreed upon and committed changes.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, including detailed weekly reporting of task, resource, financial and quality metrics.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed and on a timely basis.
  • Manage project risks and issues to minimize impact to project delivery dates, finances or resources.
  • Conduct project completion analysis (postmortems) to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of project management tools and processes used with the delivery lifecycle.
  • Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree 5 years’ experience in project management or equivalent delivery management.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • Experience handling projects that involve and span various departments, including operations, sales, customer service and IT, preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational, project management, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Resourcefulness to meet tight deadlines and flexibility with fluctuating priorities.
  • Strong communication skills; able to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively in English, in speech and writing, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks, while also having strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must possess a positive demeanor and maintain positive interactions with all internal and external customers.
  • Travel to other offices may be occasionally required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.
