Under general supervision provides care to patient in the clinic settings. Duties include assessment and performing and recording detailed patient medial history and physical examination; diagnosis and treatment of patients, suturing and minor surgical procedures, casting and splinting of fractures, prescribing medications; ordering a wide variety of diagnostic tests; and counseling patients regarding preventative care and/or options for treatments of medical problems. Works collaboratively with all members of the health care team, the patient/significant others to provide personalized care that encompasses the psychological, physical, emotional and age-specific needs of the patient. Adheres to the principles, philosophy and mission of Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in all aspects of job performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Graduation from formal Physician Assistant Course.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
• Previous clinical work experience with a variety of age groups.
• BLS/CPR & ACLS Certification required, PALS preferred.
• English-speaking, Spanish-speaking also preferred.
