Novelis Guthrie Manufacturing Facility is Hiring a Maintenance Planner Near Guthrie, KY

Position Overview

Novelis – Guthrie, KY is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner for our automotive aluminum finishing plant in Guthrie, KY. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient execution that optimizes plant equipment performance and availability. The incumbent must continuously assess planning effectiveness to identify improvements to process resources, equipment, and maintenance reliability. This position must effectively prepare maintenance work packages to improve work force productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, machine time, and labor. This position will be responsible for the use and administration of the CMMS program (SAP) for the site. This position will maintain liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations. The incumbent must maintain appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This position works closely with Maintenance Technicians on improving reliability and ensuring employee safety while maximizing labor efforts and minimizing costs.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial Manufacturing Mechanical/Electrical background necessary and tech school background desired.
  • Possess adequate maintenance knowledge to estimate labor and materials and to visualize the scheduled job task.
  • Ability to understand what constitutes good work instructions.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical shop drawings.
  • Understand of the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
  • Orientation and commitment to customer service.
  • Provide support in obtaining competitive quotations, write requisitions in SAP for parts and services.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with work projects.
  • Direct outside contractors in the completion of projects.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are being followed in the work orders.
  • Write and review specifications and prepare cost estimates and capital requests for new equipment.
  • Investigate problems in equipment operation, breakdown, or failure to determine cost effective solutions.
  • Assist with Reliability and Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • Ability to understand what constitutes good work instruction

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of a HS Diploma or GED.
  • Have excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and associated work.
  • Must possess leadership skills to direct, lead, and develop other personnel to accomplish plant and corporate objectives.
  • Good administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperwork
  • Personal traits should include the ability to utilize human relations skills to motivate, train, understand, and develop others to attain objectives.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs, and fostering a collaborative relationship.
  • Must work effectively without close supervision
  • Must possess advanced computer skills
  • Experience with 3rd party CMMS programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP proficiency
  • Previous Maintenance Planning Experience
  • Knowledge of Metal Sheet Processing Equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM (Process Safety Management)

Novelis’ Guthrie facility is located in Guthrie Kentucky approximately 30 minutes from the Tennessee state line near Clarksville Tennessee and Hopkinsville Kentucky. As Novelis’ newest facility Guthrie will house a heat treatment and pretreatment line that will serve the North American automotive market and employ 125 residents.
