Plant Human Resources Business Partner

Role Overview

The Novelis Greensboro, GA team is seeking a Plant Human Resources Business Partner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for initiating and leading various people related projects to meet the organization's objectives. Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Be a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and plant leadership team bringing expertise in HR
  • Build a strong culture within the plant by working with the leadership team and hourly employees to ensure that employees feel valued and engaged
  • Formulate and implement the Plant HR strategy consistent with the HR strategies across the business
  • Identify and hire the human capital critical to the site
  • Establish self-led teams in the plant – both structurally and culturally such that all employees have an ownership attitude
  • Steward the Novelis cultural beliefs and drive business results through proactive solutions
  • Ensure that all the major HR systems, policies, and programs run efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the strategic needs of the plant
  • Provide and ensure efficient, day-to-day HR administration and operations
  • Build a talent rich and sustainable leadership group through organizational planning and employee development
  • Handle employee and manager performance process
  • Help managers build effective teams
  • Build employee engagement and efficiency
  • Provide learning and development opportunities to employees at all levels

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters of Human Resources or MBA preferred
  • 10 years of experience working in Human Resources within a manufacturing environment required
  • Previous experience in Recruiting and building robust teams
  • Previous experience leading a culture transformation
  • Proven leadership, change management and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Must possess leadership skills to advise, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Proficiency at software applications, including Microsoft Office, and quick learning of new technology

Location Profile

Novelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes a number of golf communities. In addition Athens Georgia – home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year – is a short drive away. Novelis Greensboro actively promotes safety recycling and STEM education through several local community organizations and in 2018 the Boys and Girls Club named Novelis its Business Partner of the Year.
