Position Overview

The Novelis Financial Reporting team is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting. The person in this role will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and Consolidations. This position is responsible for planning and oversight of external and internal financial reporting, including compilation and review of financial statements and supporting notes for quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) SEC filings under U.S. GAAP. The position is a key role within the Controllership organization and works closely with Regional accounting teams, Tax, Treasury and other corporate executives. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

• Direct the daily activities of the Financial Reporting team 
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and compliance with SEC reporting requirements
• Supervise quarterly and annual financial reporting to the parent company in accordance Indian Accounting Standards (IndAS) 
• Ensure US GAAP, Management, and IndAS cash flow statements are prepared and reviewed
• Work with Treasury and Regional teams to ensure cash flow items are properly represented 

• Research and analyze the Company’s quarterly operating results and effectively draft MD&A

sections of 10K/10Q. Communicate results with executives of the Company

• Supervise annual legal entity reporting and periodic debt compliance and other regulatory reporting
• Work closely with the Technical Accounting team to ensure appropriate reporting and disclosure of complex accounting transactions 
• Provide “early warning” to Financial Planning & Analysis group, VP Controller, treasury, tax, and CFO of unusual transactions that were recognized during the month/quarter close 

• Facilitate financial executives’ and directors’ understanding of our periodic financial results 
• Coordinate closely with the Investor Relationship team and the Sustainability team to ensure accurate reporting and alignment of IR reporting and ESG reporting, respectively, with 10-K/10-Q filings 
• Coordinate and manage timeline of “client assistance” deliverables for external auditors 
• Serve as relationship partner between Novelis and financial reporting vendor, Workiva 
• Provide leadership and support to Corporate Accounting and Regions

• Ensure accurately and timely filing of all XBRL reporting requirements
• Supervise completion of the 10-K/10-Q disclosure checklist 
• Assist with the preparation of ad hoc SEC registration statement filings, as necessary 
• Direct, develop and retain talent needed to accomplish the objectives above 

Qualifications: 

• 7-9 years of experience 
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, CPA required, Master’s degree preferred 
• Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations 
• Public accounting experience, Big 4 experience strongly preferred

• Ability to collaborate across multiple functions, geographies, and cultures 
• Strong MS Excel knowledge

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and deliver within competing deadlines, while maintaining a detail-oriented mindset

• Preferred Qualifications:  

• Recent experience with financial reporting under IFRS
• Prior SEC reporting experience outside of public accounting 
• Prior experience with OneStream and Workiva
• Knowledge of Alteryx and/or Power BI
