Data Quality Analyst

Position Overview:  

The Novelis Digital Team is seeking a Data Quality Analyst. The person in this role will work with the Data Governance Lead and will also support enterprise MDM Data Stewards. The ideal candidate will focus on supporting objectives related to data governance and enterprise vendor and material master data management. This includes analyzing data that is associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation, and control of data in Novelis’ data analytics platform (DAP). As DAP continues to be further proven by the business for analytical and planning activities, this role is increasingly more critical for helping to ensure efficient data quality standards in increasingly more sophisticated technical environments and solutions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:  

• Support the implementation of Novelis’ data governance framework and data catalog, with a focus on continued improvement of data quality and alignment to established processes
• Develop queries to support data quality audits to identify possible issues coming in the data lake
• Analyze data for compliance to craft specifications and encouraged/anticipated behaviors.
• Perform audits, as required, to ensure quality processes exist and are being adhered to; clearly and thoroughly document data issues.
• Analyze the efficiency of data monitoring and governance processes
• Review the efficiency of MDM match-and-merge rules and identify areas for improvement
• Help to create processes and procedures needed to measure data accuracy
• Analyze the accuracy of master data in the data lake and Informatica MDM as compared with the source systems
• Observe, document, and promote opportunities to enrich master data such as the harmonization/standardization reference data management objects across multiple source systems
• Help to create processes and procedures needed to measure data accuracy
• Assist with maintaining the material and vendor MDM documentation (e.g., review and clean-up existing data in SharePoint)
• Provide updates on project tasks status, risks, issues, and scope change to management
• Communicate the pervasiveness of data quality problems and their potential impacts
• Strategize and identify ways of improving overall quality of the data; recommend solutions for enhancing data quality
• Engage appropriate data managers to advocate for the prioritization of data quality initiatives
• Identify quality issues and recommend solutions
• Work with business stakeholders to better understand how data is being leveraged to support strategic initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years of related experience
• The person filling the role of the Data Quality Analyst should be curious, familiar with data quality methods of analysis, inquisitive about the nuances of the data in our data lake, and outspoken in a way that will influence and create change and improvements in both business processes and analytics capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• MIS, CS, or Data Analytics/Science
• Data lake/warehouse knowledge or experience
• Experience with Collibra, Informatica MDM

Novelis’ Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis’ North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
