Summary of the Position : The Laboratory Support Technician II is responsible for basic laboratory operations to ensure the Formulation Development laboratory is able to perform efficiently and compliantly. This person will be required to maintain inventory of reagents and consumables used in lab operations. They will be responsible for the upkeep of the equipment used in the Formulation Development Lab.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : - Maintains an efficient, well organized laboratories, manages supplies, and maintains quality control programs
- Individual is responsible for maintaining laboratory supplies by inventorying stock; verifying receipt, restocking lab and discarding expired reagents. Individual will ensure lack of inventory is never a limiting factor in laboratory operation.
- Must ensure all stock is received following GDP and GCLP process as per department SOPs
- Individual will track all department chemicals and maintain chemical database
- Individual will maintain laboratory equipment by following GDP and GCLP process as per department SOPs, including monitoring using a Central Monitoring System.
- Individual will provide troubleshooting for instrument errors as needed
- Individuals will be required to be on a rotating on-call schedule for Critical Temperature unit monitoring to include monitoring after normal work hours, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to prioritize workload in response to the specific needs of department
- Ensures accurate storage for all sample inventory utilizing LIMS
- Prepare samples when needed and make deliveries to clients as required
- Keep management informed of day to day progress, including deviations from the established process
- May help to processes large volumes of sample shipments.
- Understanding the Standard Operating Procedures and equipment associated with his/her duties.
Minimum Requirements : - Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 4 years' experience in a cGMP laboratory, related to pharmaceutical industry operations is preferred
- Individual selected will be required to take influenza and other vaccines, as appropriate
- Working knowledge of cGMPs and GDPs is preferred
- Good communications skills
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
