Description

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager. The Regional Sales Manager is primarily responsible for increasing revenue and gross margin created from the sale of all Novaspect products and services in a specific region. They develop and implement regional strategies and tactics to produce consistent growth and incremental value to our customers, as well as creating a positive work environment consistent with Novaspect’s Identity. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the direction, training, and personal development of their team and reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership & Change Management

  • Cultivate and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, external principals, and vendors to achieve mutually beneficial goals
  • Provide direction and example for the sales team and all employees to behave in accordance with company identity
  • Resolve problems and remove obstacles to financial, operational, and personal improvement
  • Create constructive conflict and challenge basic assumptions underlying each sales plan.
  • Seek opportunities for investment, revenue generation, strategic partnerships, and brand development
  • Clearly articulate and document the motive, action plan, personal commitment, and desired result of organizational changes
  • Represent Novaspect within Emerson and LBP organizations and develop positive relationships and strong partnerships for mutual benefit
  • Facilitate the behaviors of teamwork, passion, candor, ownership, and evolution.

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Participate in the Novaspect annual planning process as a member of the sales management team including all regional managers and the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies and related tactics in collaboration with Novaspect business unit, operations, and service leaders as well as Emerson sales management
  • Develop and execute regional sales coverage model in collaboration with Novaspect Business Unit, Operations, and Service leaders as well as Emerson Sales Management
  • Collaborate with sales personnel to develop territory, account, and project pursuit plans
  • Develop regional and individual sales goals that support Novaspect’s annual business plan
  • Apply company sales processes and customer value documentation across the region
  • Collaborate with Operations leaders to implement market based inventory strategies
  • Generate market and competitive information and customer feedback

Sales Management & Personnel Development

  • Provide regular communication of regional, business unit, company, and principal performance related to current plans and initiatives as well as future opportunity and product/service development with entire region and related Emerson sales personnel
  • Collaborate with Emerson sales management regarding the continued execution and performance of regional business plans
  • Provide a monthly review of individual performance with each direct report
  • Develop education, personal development, and career plans with each direct report
  • Hold sales personnel accountable for the achievement of their individual plans and goals

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering related discipline, MBA preferred
  • 15 years relevant experience in the industrial products and service industry including sales management preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a sales organization of similar size and scope preferred
  • History of successful recruiting, training, and development of sales personnel
  • Experience leading a sales team integrated with multiple business units serving multiple industries and market segments
  • Experience developing and maintaining executive level relationships with internal stakeholders, external principals, and supplier personnel
  • Involvement and leadership in professional associations
