Primary Responsibilities Leads multi-disciplinary/cross-functional project teams to execute, new product transfer to production, productivity initiatives, while ensuring compliance maintained with Celera Motion’s ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 quality standards Leads the operations team though transfer to production of new product development initiatives, ensuring on-time launch readiness of manufacturing, supply chain, and test, inclusive of developing, refining, and documenting the transfer to production process Leads initiative to support standardization of new product development templates in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards, as well as Novanta Stage and Gate Process. Support the optimization of manufacturing and supply chain strategy to align with Novanta preferred supplier partners, and leverage Novanta’s global network of manufacturing facilities to scale operations while enabling continuous material and labor productivity improvement Works with upstream Marketing and R&D on new product roadmap strategies as well as stage and gate process to ensure deliverables can be met within timeframes and resources are properly planned and secured Evaluate testing requirements, performance, production schedule and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor and overhead information as required for each project Work with Sourcing to resolve complex issues with existing suppliers Visit suppliers and other Novanta facilities to assess their manufacturing process, materials, and total landed cost to leverage and optimize operations strategy Challenge existing processes, systems, and procedures, while searching for more effective solutions. Creates project schedules and financial commitments in collaboration with subject matter experts and functional managers, and then continually tracks and manages technical and schedule risks to deliver costs savings projects on time. Effectively communicates project status, resource requirements, KPIs, risks, and mitigation plans with key stakeholders on a regular basis, and champions the resources required to execute Acts a coordinator for all Product Change Notices Identify Value Add and Value Engineering opportunities Acts as the operations liaison to EHS management and corporate safety compliance to OSHA standards and attaining ISO 140001 certification Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering preferred) 10 years’ experience in engineering, operations, supply chain or technical project engineering leadership, preferably within a precision instrumentation or electro-optics setting. Strong knowledge of project management fundaments (CPM, Gantt Charting, Resource Balancing, Phase Gates, etc.) Experience developing business cases, ROI calculations, and developing and proposing tradeoff analysis to help foster effective, fact-based decision making. Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills across many domains Demonstrated passion to be highly organized and process driven. Positive, can-do attitude, with strong engagement skills and ability to influence positive outcomes with a sense of urgency and personal commitment to market success, always tempered by a high moral and business code of conduct. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while being flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary. Strong communication and presentation skills demonstrating the ability to communicate complex concepts in easy to understand ways to colleagues, internal stakeholders, and customers. Be able to lead teams without direct authority Be able to tailor presentations to various audience (technical group - to executive leadership) Excellent working knowledge of common software tools such as including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project. Experience delivering results in a lean / continuous improvement environment, leveraging Kaizen to accelerate and deliver breakthrough results Travel Requirements Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally, if required.
