Established in 1995, Nova Consulting (Nova) is a Woman Owned Small Business / minority engineering consulting firm specializing in civil and environmental engineering, as well as construction management services. We bring over two decades of experience providing professional services to federal, state, and municipal agencies in the water, wastewater, environmental, and transportation/infrastructure markets. 

As a Field Engineer you will be responsible for participating in key projects in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner. It is essential for this candidate to participate in developing trust with clients, assist Project Managers with daily work tasks, and consistently deliver high quality contributions towards projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works at direction of an experienced Project Manager
• Prepares daily construction activity reports
• Coordinates responses to shop drawing and RFI reviews 
• Performs reviews of progress project schedules
• Performs reviews of construction cost estimates and change orders
• Performs quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Reviews pay application requests

Requirements

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• EIT Certificate, PE license a plus
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in field engineering for civil/construction projects.
• Experience in earthworks/geotechnical projects
• Software proficiency (Word, Excel, Ebuilder a plus)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
• Ability to communicate orally or in writing to obtain or provide information
• Ability to assist clients and contractors with issues of compliance and other miscellaneous administrative and/or technical assignments as required by the assigned project
• Ability to adhere to the company's standards and procedures as well as project budgets and schedules
• 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred
