NorthShore Resources has a contract to hire opportunity for a Business Analyst/Versatilist - Health Plan Systems, a unique role with a variety of responsibilities which includes eliciting, documenting, understanding, and prioritizing business needs, pain-points, and solution ideas to enhance our platform. The position also helps with maintaining the platform and includes prioritization, resource allocation, budgeting, and training conversations.
This position assists with documenting and tracking business application request lifecycles; ensuring priorities, changes and issues are managed for IT application development.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Develops technical specifications in alignment with defined functional requirements.
  • Gathers information regarding costs and resource availability for SRFs, mid-sized projects and issue resolution.
  • Reviews application problems: informing IT's business partners of status and expected resolutions.
  • Serves as a liaison between business partners and application development team members to analyze, document and validate functional requirements.
  • Designs screens, reports, and dataflow to align with business needs.
  • Help maintain the roadmap, projects, requests, allocations, funding. Takes an active role in ordering the backlog according to roadmap deliverables and story readiness.
  • Tracks, maintains, and retains documentation that supports the adherence to IT standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Clarifies and documents process, policy and/or procedural changes for development staff and for IT business partners.
  • Helps with coordinating training and documentation.
  • Ensures that the appropriate approvals and documentation for change control and problem management are retained.
  • Create and maintain requirements artifacts in accordance with change management guidelines including project vision/scope documents, functional specification, use cases, concept mock-ups, wireframes, and process diagram flowcharts
  • Quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing as needed
  • Provides training, documentation, and support for ITs business partners for system changes and/or new developments.
  • Documents data flows through applications; demonstrating system functionality.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, design, healthcare, or another related field
  • 6 years of Business Analysis or leadership experience in IT
  • Experience eliciting and evaluating business needs and requirements from stakeholders
  • Experience in critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciliation of conflicts and decomposition of high-level information into details.
  • Experience facilitating documentation review sessions
  • Experience writing and maintaining requirements plans for medium/large projects.
  • Experience with change management practices
  • Experience with creating/maintaining artifacts including vision documentation, functional specifications, use cases, business requirements/rules, business process diagrams.
  • Experience in training or mentoring team members or other Business Analysts
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities with different business partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer design and software development lifecycle processes, strong consultative skills, capable problem solver, ability to build consensus, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, developers, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Excellent proficiency utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Firsthand experience with database, programming languages and end-user software in a networked environment
  • Working knowledge of programming languages
  • Effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents
  • Effectively analyze and resolve problems
  • Arbitration skills
  • Ability to manage a high degree of change
