SUMMARY
This position will be a direct report to the VP of Operations. Individual will be responsible for the oversight and management of our food distribution facility as well as overall equipment maintenance (Including building, fleet and warehouse equipment maintenance) for one of Northeast Ohio’s leading independent broadline food distributors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Responsible for:
Directing, managing and supporting front line warehouse and maintenance leaders as well as
overall operations in dry storage, cooler storage and freezer storage
areas.
General building and equipment maintenance.
Mentoring direct reports to improve skills and overall operational effectiveness.
Driving accountability through all levels of operation.
Managing of key operational metrics.
Manage and take action on customer feedback.
Management of projects within set budgets.
Initiating, coordinating and enforcing programs, policies and procedures.
Physical condition of warehouse as well as recommending capital improvements to support
continued growth.
Maintaining proper staffing levels for operations department including: general warehouse, drivers, and general maintenance.
Communicating safety, quality and food safety policies to all employees. Incorporate and support GMPS’s and distribution center cleanliness/standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
BA or BS in related Supply Chain management or related field.
Prior experience in warehouse management within the foodservice industry preferred
but not required.
Knowledge of WMS systems.
Knowledge of all governmental regulations concerning HAACP and OSHA.
Knowledge of Voice Activated Picking applications.
General Building Maintenance (Refrigeration Units, High Speed Doors, etc.)
Equipment Maintenance and Purchasing Experience (Tractor, Trailer, Straigh Trucks,
Refrigeration Units).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Attention to Detail
Strong Organization and Project Management Skills.
Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Proven competency in supervisory activities which require conflict management,
managing and measuring performance, motivating team spirit and morale and
understanding of diverse viewpoints.
