Job Title: Program Director

Job Summary:Our residential department is looking for a Program Director for ourResidential Home. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the assigned residence(s), including implementing agency policy and practice and ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Fulfills programmatic responsibilities by providing quality living supports and supervision to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and staff. Ensures that the Northeast Arc (NeArc) Residential Division reflects the mission statement and vision of the agency.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides responsive, effective residential supports and leads staff in creating an atmosphere that places individual respect, dignity, and empowerment above all else.

• Works as part of the Residential Team, including assisting peers, providing residential office coverage and possessing a working knowledge of all residential homes and systems.

• Ensures Residential Team Members are aware of daily schedule and staffing coverage. Apprises the team of all pertinent issues at the residence, changes in status, and provides clinical information to Weekend On-Call team, as necessary.

• Completes all documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including ISP Documentation, Health Care Records, HCSIS, Incident Reporting, Weekend Notes, House Profiles, Vacation Memos, Staffing Schedules, and Service Reports

• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment within the residence and ensures safe evacuation of individuals in case of emergency. Adheres to vehicle maintenance schedules, ensures in good repair and reports issues or concerns in a timely manner.

• Ensures books and systems comply with Residential Standards, QA Tools and DDS Survey and Certification, including Emergency Log, House Meeting, Medical, Money, Training and Data Books.

• Adjusts priorities, schedules, and supports to respond to the critical needs of the home. Seeks assistance from appropriate people when necessary.

•Interviews, hires, trains and schedules staff to meet ratio of requirements of the residence. Facilitates staff meetings, supports staff and provides regular on-site supervision. Conducts formal job performance evaluations and addresses performance related issues in a timely manner.• Provides direct Support to the individuals as needed. 
•Completes billing information, payroll, other documentation accurately and in a timely fashion. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in human services, psychology, or other related field strongly preferred but not mandatory. HS Diploma/GED a must
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, including prior experience in a residential program.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Ability to foster an environment of respect, care, tolerance, and empowerment for individuals living within assigned residence. Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making skills, including being able to assess a situation, develop alternative solutions and decide the appropriate course of action required.
  • Ability to maintain certifications as required (MAP, First Aid, CPR)
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Kronos.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must be able to work at a desk/computer in an office environment and physically be able to provide direct support to individuals in their homes.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, push wheelchairs, and provide physical intervention as necessary and lift and/or transfer individuals

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm 
Hourly Rate: $ 27.00/hr.
