North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Jamestown, ND

North Dakota State Hospital - Jamestown, ND - Equipment Operator & Maintenance Worker

Full-time, Regular - 100% Health Insurance paid by employer.

As an Equipment Operator with the North Dakota State Hospital you will maintain the State Hospital campus and James River Correctional Center parking areas, so they remain in an attractive and safe manner. 

Duties include but not limited to: 

  • Maintaining safety of streets, sidewalks and parking lots. 
  • Operating snowblower, bobcat and dump truck with blade to remove ice and snow from streets, sidewalks and parking lots, this may need to be done during adverse weather conditions. 
  • Shoveling snow and ice from doorways and other areas that equipment can’t reach. 
  • Operating mower, skid steer and backhoe as needed. 
  • Operation of heavy equipment 
  • Trimming trees, mow and weed areas that the equipment can’t reach. 
  • Supervising client workers as they are working on the lawns. 
  • Minor repairs and maintenance of grounds equipment. 
  • Testing swimming pool chemicals and AED readiness. 
  • Assisting other plant services staff with special projects, when schedule allows. 

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a high school diploma or GED, one year of general maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license. 

  • Preference will be given to those having a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience operating various equipment, i.e., lawn mowers, pay loaders, trucks, snow blowers.
