North Carolina Office of State Human Resources is Hiring an Administrative Specialist I - Temporary Solutions Near Raleigh, NC

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Raleigh- Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.20 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Justice. This position is located at 114 W. Edenton St. Raleigh, NC 27603.

This position will assist in performing receptionist duties by responding to incoming calls regarding routine consumer inquiries and providing consumers with basic information concerning consumer protection laws. Make appropriate referrals to Division specialists and investigators or other agencies when needed. Solicit a written or online complaint form from the consumer when appropriate. Use the Consumer Protection complaint database to record inquiries and determine the status of filed complaints.

  • Considerable knowledge of services, policies, and procedures related to a program or area of specialization.
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in the performance of administrative tasks; ability to explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff.
  • Considerable knowledge of program policies, procedures, and information systems in order to communicate and process information.
  • Ability to compile, assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information; ability to apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation, and/or analysis of data.
  • Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs.
  • Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
