NORTH ARKANSAS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER is Hiring a Decision Support Analyst Near Harrison, AR

Overview

The Decision Support Analyst is responsible for utilizing Analytics/BI to identify opportunities, implement best practices, establish goals and develop key metrics that generate measurable results to meet the needs of the managers, directors and senior management that they support. In this role you will provide meaningful reporting to assist in meeting the analytical needs of management and others. Strong quantitative analytic, accounting and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial and statistical analyses related to revenue and reimbursement, using internal data bases, accounting information, hospital and/or clinic performance, current regulations and other information as required. 
  • Assists in measurement of periodic net revenue performance and volume, for use in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of key performance indicators, financial statement valuation, support for public accounting audit or review and annual clinic/hospital budget. Monitor and report balances on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements pertaining to current liabilities to/from third party payers. Also, performs monthly variance analyses to support budget objectives. 
  • Manage and enhance large technical financial and statistical information in support of routine revenue and reimbursement functions, including analysis of third party payer contracts, Performa analysis, cost reporting and net revenue measurement. Maintain records in an orderly and comprehensive fashion to support cost reporting and audit needs. 
  • Collaboratively interacts with Information Technology, Patient Financial Services and other departments. Must remain current with how information is collected, maintained and reported in all key systems. Identify data uses and develop analysis opportunities that are currently not used. Uses innovation to extract data from various sources. Work with IT, PFS and DSS to design solutions to various technical problems. 
  • Provide monthly, annual and ad hoc financial reports to all levels of staff and management. Demonstrates ability to work with staff to resolve problems and correct deficiencies in processes. Responsible for researching and analyzing revenue opportunities and implementing changes to realize improvements. Maintains current knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations in order to develop reimbursement models. Maintains ability to manipulate and analyze complex data to assist in decision making.
  • Maintain and continually improve on technical skills needed to manipulate data. Write and schedule SQL queries, spreadsheet macros and design data base structures as needed to produce and analyze reports. Maintain advanced report writing skills in Data Repository (SQL) and other systems as needed. Provides thorough financial and statistical analysis of data, as needed, to produce reports and support decision making.
  • All duties are performed independently and requires self-motivation and a professional attitude in the work environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

PREFERRED

Education:

Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

Experience:

Knowledge of financial analysis, accounting logic to identify and analyze trends

Knowledge specific to healthcare payor contracts and revenue cycle
