North American Stamping Group is Hiring a Receiving Clerk Near Portland, TN

GENERAL SUMMARY To ensure customer orders are shipped and purchased parts are received on time with good quality and accurate counts. Pull customer orders for daily shipments to ensure on time deliveries as required by the customer. Ship to the daily shipping schedule as defined by the Materials Group Leader as well as Continuous Improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills using TQPS principles. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSA. Report all quality, production or safety problems to the Team Leader. B. Ensure quality parts are shipped according to customer requirements. Verify customer order match actual parts staged for shipment. C. Performs incoming quality checks as required per the control plan (measuring, gauging, visual inspection). D. Responsible to release and ensure delivery of all out-sourced parts. Verify weight count, transact inventory in Shop Edge. E. Assist in a full material control system, verifying every incoming item has a purchase order and a signed receiving slip. Also, verifying actual parts and quantity received matches P.O. F. Assist in total inventory control. Work with Materials Coordinator, Production Scheduler and Materials Lead to maintain accurate inventory. G. Assist in completing monthly and yearly physical inventories. H. Pull / stage / load trucks for customer orders based on the pick list daily. I. Unload inbound trailers with empty dunnage and purchased materials. Put away in designated locations. J. Ensure all parts, containers (full or empty) are staged and scanned properly to a location in Shop Edge or located in designated container / parts storage areas. K. Tagging/labeling inbound material to maintain inventory accuracies. Label the boxes/containers as required. L. Perform & maintain 5-S standards in area of responsibility. M. Suggest methods of improvement, (i.e. continuous improvement plan & performance award program). N. Available for overtime as required. O. Understands containment process in the event incoming or outgoing material is found to be non-conforming. P. Print shipping paperwork from Shop Edge for outbound shipments. Q. Collect material from Production drop off area and store in assigned warehouse location, scan to location. R. Make correct use of onboard Shop Edge Tablet / Hand held scanners MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Education:• Required - High school diploma or GED• Required - Must Pass fork truck certification @NASG • Basic computer skills • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Demonstrated basic math skills Experience:• 2 Years forklift experience, preferably in manufacturing.• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated experience in safe material handling practices. • Prefer previous experience in an assembly / manufacturing environment. Personal/Technical Skills: • Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team. • Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties. • Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required. • Ability to work at a fast pace. • Accountable - teachable - approachable • Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative & flexible. • Ability to problem solve. • Capable of lifting 50 pounds. • Ability to stand up for a minimum of 8 hours. Language Skills: • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English). For the Mexico division this is preferred, not required. Computer/Software: • Demonstrated basic computer skills. Training: • New Hire Orientation • Environmental, Health, & Safety • IATF16949 & ISO-14001 • Introduction to Lean • Associate Involvement • Workplace Organization – 5S • Shop Edge Training • OJT Baseline Training • Fork Truck Certification @ NASG WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS Plant: Various types of manufacturing environments. • Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply. • Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc. Travel: • No travel required.
