ABOUT THE ROLE

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the daily operations for on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure components, consistently ensuring the integrity of host devices, databases and secure data transfers across the Enterprise
  • Works closely with senior level engineers on deployments and maintenance delivery services.
  • Responsible for identifying and remediating critical and security vulnerabilities for servers and other resource components.
  • Participates in troubleshooting procedures and contributes to design resolutions and execution of scripts.
  • Part of a team that plans and implements new technologies as well as improving the efficiency of existing technologies.
  • Maintains and increases knowledge of ECFMG IS core infrastructure components.
  • Evaluates new products and contributes to the development of technical standards.
  • Participates in enterprise-wide assignments. Shares knowledge with fellow team members.
  • Works on projects/issues of complexity that require solid knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments.
  • Participates in enterprise-wide on-call rotation.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, future technologies and client issues that may impact technical implementation strategies and direction.
  • Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support the integration of information security standards in development, design, and implementation of ECFMG infrastructure architectures and framework.
  • Provide direction or participate in troubleshooting of complex incidents, managing support tickets for incidents and requests effectively and efficiently.
  • Participates and provides feedback to improve ECFMG business and IS processes including but not limited to, workflow, project management, time accounts, and employee reviews.
  • Works with Principal System Engineering as a mentee, developing hard technical skills as well as soft skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years in technology services serving as a Server Administrator, Systems Engineer, Sr. IT Support Services Specialist, or similar with experience in the following.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies such as Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, Group Policy Administration, DHCP, DNS.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft products both on-prem and O365.
  • Hands-on experience supporting hybrid and cloud-based compute and storage solutions (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with reading and creating documentation for both technical and non-technical use.
  • Knowledge and experience in a wide range of technologies including proficiency in supporting virtualized and non-virtualized desktop and server systems (Hyper-V a plus).

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Professional certifications spanning multiple disciplines such as Microsoft MCSE, Red Hat, CompTIA, Oracle, VMWare, or similar are a plus.

SKILLS

  • In-depth knowledge of a network, PC, and server operating systems and experience in wide range of technologies including hybrid environments, virtualization, cloud architecture and design.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience and knowledge of Data Center environments and tiering.
  • Familiarity and technical knowledge of Hyperconverged technologies.
  • Exposure to implementations of migrating from on-premise environments to cloud-based models.
  • Demonstrated expertise with current technology trends.
  • Strong positive customer service attitude while interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and can adjust to changes in scope and timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

SALARY for Systems Engineer (Starting at $85,000)

Any offered salary is determined based on competency and skills, prior relevant experience, required degrees/certifications, internal equity within the organization and market competition.

WORK SCHEDULE for Systems Engineer

This full-time position typically works 7-hour workdays, Monday - Friday, with a flexible virtual work arrangement.
