Noblis is Hiring a Systems Administrator Near Philadelphia, PA

Responsibilities:

Noblis MSDs mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire an Information Technology (Systems Administrator) professional to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy.

Noblis MSD is seeking a Systems Administrator and/or IT Professional to join our team supporting new system development for U.S. Navy submarine programs. This is an exciting opportunity to engage meaningful work for high priority DoD programs, providing system development from project start and design phase. It is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a brand-new, long-term program. The candidate's responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:

1. Hardware and Software Procurement: Technical evaluation and selection of hardware/software based on technical requirements and Government constraints.

2. Operating System (OS) Installation and Setup: Provide expertise in installing various operating systems and ensuring proper configuration. Utilize or develop scripts for automating repetitive installation and configuration tasks.

3. Virtual Machine (VM) Development and Setup: Creation of virtual environments tailored to the project's needs. Ensure VMs are properly configured and perform as expected.

4. Software/Firmware Installation: Deploy software and firmware updates to various hardware devices. Manage software versions to ensure consistency across devices.

5. Testing: Conduct thorough testing to ensure hardware and software components function seamlessly. Efficiently identify, document, and resolve any bugs or issues.

6. Cybersecurity Awareness: Communicate effectively with the program cybersecurity lead. Stay updated on the latest security standards and apply them diligently.

7. Software Functionality: Engage with program stakeholders to understand and gather requirements. Ensure updates or changes in the system configuration do not hinder or restrict software functionality. Conduct thorough analysis of proposed updates or changes to identify potential impacts on software functionality. Implement preventative measures and adjustments to configurations or software as needed to maintain uninterrupted functionality. Document all identified impacts, potential risks, and taken measures to ensure a comprehensive record for future references and continuous improvement.

This will be a hybrid position and while you will not be required to be in the office on a set basis you should be local to come in quickly as the need arises.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in IT.
  • One of the following certifications: CISSP (or associate), CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, including the installation and configuring of software applications.
  • Systems Administration experience to include user management, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently.
  • Proficient with Communication Protocols and Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, etc.)
  • Skilled with Virtual Machine (VM) management, optimization, and networking.
  • DOD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process a plus.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis total compensation package for employees.

Posted Salary Range:
USD $90,300.00 - USD $158,000.00 /Yr.
