POSITION SUMMARY

Do you love providing compassionate care to those who suffer from illnesses or injuries? At Newton Medical Center we are proud to set a 5-Star standard for healthcare and are in need of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Family Birth Center. In this role, you will work in tandem to provide excellent nursing care to our patients which includes, but not necessarily all-inclusive, assist with delivery, processing labs, monitoring patient/family needs and direct physical care such as, Bili/PKU draws, hearing screens outpatient services, and car seat installations.

As a member of our interdisciplinary team your daily skills and enthusiasm for delegated aspects of care detailed and reliable care in helping patients progress toward outcomes is an expected and an essential aspect of care provision. We’re looking for a highly professional LPN who is comfortable reassuring families, communicating with our healthcare team and tending to the needs of your patients. This is a Day shift position 3a-3-p.

As of 1/21/22, NMC Health requires all employees to be vaccinated unless a medical or religious exemption is needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience:

• Graduation from high school or GED
• Graduation from accredited school of Practical Nursing

• Preferred OB or postpartum experience 
• Experience with and knowledge of medical terminology and medications
• Experience with and knowledge of medical office procedures, including draw/administration of injections

Licensure and certifications:

• Current license as a practical nurse in the state of Kansas 
• Basic Life Support is required
