Niles Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is Hiring a Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator Near Niles, IL

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining adequate nursing staff for the facility. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assists in recruiting, selection, and training of potential employees and ensures all staffing needs are met

Coordinates, monitors, and adjusts schedules for the nursing departments as required, including daily, weekly and monthly, also covering vacations and holidays

Recommends to the Administrator the number and level of personnel to be employed

Assists in determining nursing staffing, evaluates employee performance to DON and Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, and transfers

Checks applications and references of prospective employees and arrange for interviews

Attends departmental meetings, in-service educational meetings, and on-the-job training

Ensures that appropriate training records are maintained for nursing staff

Maintains job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility (including job applications, resumes, reference checks)

Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility policies and procedures

Maintains nursing schedules as appropriate

Stays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases or decreases

Assist in hiring personnel in accordance with established hiring practices

Other related duties as assigned by Administrator/Director of Nursing

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions in certain circumstances

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies and the general public

Must maintain confidentiality of all resident information, be knowledgeable and comply with residents’ rights

Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions

Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry, output, etc.

Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays

Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have, as a minimum (1) year experience in long term care.
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must meet health assessment requirements
