The Funding Specialist I supports retention and degree completion by assisting students to explore
alternative funding options. This role works closely with the Financial Aid Department to process additional funding to cover a student’s remaining gap balance. In addition, they provide financial resources regarding Scholarships and Private Lending options. The Funding Specialist is responsible for advising students regarding eligibility criteria and application procedures for all available federal, state scholarships as well as institutional financial assistance programs. Counsels’ fellow teams regarding status of gap balance funding and/or disbursement details. Reviews students’ documents and applications for accuracy and completeness in order to proceed with processing. Performs consistent and thorough audits of accounts to ensure funding matches the general ledger postings.

This position is required to attend new employee orientation in person in Salt Lake City, Utah from May 16th through May 19th All travel and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.
