Job Description Job Overview Plans and directs general accounting functions within finance department by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate supervision. Supervises and coordinates activities of accounting staff, accounts receivable, and accounts payable personnel to insure appropriate processing controls, and postings are timely and accurately completed to general ledger to support financial reporting requirements. Primary Accounting support for various cross- functional matters impacting the financial reporting / controls including, but not limited to, manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, customer service, and payroll. Responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements, maintaining accounting general ledger system, managing interim and/or year-end financial audits, and support business planning as needed. Responsibilities & Duties Prepares / supervises the preparation of financial statements on monthly basis. Also prepares / supervises the preparation of various operational / management reporting as required. Direct the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets / depreciation reporting systems. Supervises and participates in the preparation of various other financial and tax related statements and reports as required. Directs and supports internal and external financial audits as necessary Coordinates the preparation of external audit materials / work papers as necessary. Assists in the annual budget preparation Completes various local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements as necessary Assists / Directs other accounting staff personnel on questions and concerns Assists all departments with general accounting questions and/or issues Lead and direct the work of others, conduct performance appraisals, plan and prioritize tasks for team Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field 5 years of relevant experience General Bookkeeping and/or general accounting in a manufacturing environment knowledge of general accounting practices and principles (GAAP). Knowledge of workplace software used for word processing, spreadsheets, planning, presentations, and e-mail. This individual must be familiar with a variety of field's concepts, practices and procedures within the field Must be comfortable working independently Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to effectively manage time and resources. The individual must have a strong attention to detail, be highly organized and be responsible for actions.
