NGK Ceramics USA Inc is Hiring a QA Technician I Near Mooresville, NC

I. POSITION SUMMARY
A. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates
statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the
following duties:
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list
and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned):
A. Organizes the Sample Order process from receipt of order through packaging and shipment
arrangements for customer orders. This process can involve assisting with cutting of product,
maintaining inventory of sample bricks and coordinating testing and inspection of sample parts.
B. Inputs product specifications and inspection results into the CAPAC computer system.
Determine the product specification by interpretation of customer and internal drawings and
specifications.
C. Generates customer test reports for production runs of product which includes inspection results
and statistical process control graphs and charts.
D. Prepares and submits special reports for production runs of product as required. These reports
to include process capability studies, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), internal
performance reports, etc.
E. Controls the approval and release of product shipments and the corresponding distribution of
relevant test results to customers.
F. Coordinates the receiving and filing and drawings and controlled documents from Japan.
Controls the distribution of copies to all departments.
G. Assists in the creation, typing and organization of Q.A. reports, records and data including long-
term retention.
H. Helps establish menus, queries, information screens and reports beneficial to the Q.A.
department’s job function.
I. Coordinates corrective and preventive action requests, tracking their completion.
J. Conducts internal audits both process and product.
K. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
M. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

IV. REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A. Required Education and/or Experience
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2. A two-year associate’s degree in a technical or computer related field is preferred.
3. Experience in Quality Assurance
B. Required Communication Skills
1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions and procedure manuals.
2. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
3. Ability to speak effectively with customers and members of organization.
C. Required Mathematical Skills

1. Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals
2. Ability to perform conversions between measurement systems.
3. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; capacity to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
D. Required Reasoning Ability
1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
E. Additional Skills and Qualifications
1. Should be proficient with computer systems including Excel and W ord
2. CAPAC knowledge is a plus.
3. Knowledge of CMS
4. Basic QA technical skills are also necessary including experience with application of
statistical quality control techniques.
5. Familiarity with procedures including PFMEA, APOP, PPAP, etc. is highly desirable.
6. Should be detail oriented and possess good organizational skills
7. Ability to read and comprehend drawing specs both from the customer and internal

A. While performing the duties of this job, the member may be exposed to extreme heat and
vibration.
B. The member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

C. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
VII. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/PPE
A. Face masks are required per CDC guidelines, effective 10/1/2021
B. Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.
C. The employee will work in multiple areas and will abide by any safety requirements; hearing,
head and eye protection are required in designated areas or under prescribed work conditions
